  • I-751 Question....go for the real interview

WHen you do the I-751. CHanging from
    conditional permanent resident to permanent
resident.... do you just fill out the form
and send in.....or is there a "real interview"
    with all the back-up information>
Is this last step, to be taken "lightly so to speak" or very serious?

    Just need opinions?

After the change to permanent resident....
are you really finished with immigration?

      Or is there something else?

There are so many chats on this subject go to search and type in I-751.
There might be another interview yes. People at times are chosen randomly or because you did not send alot of proof. And after you received your PR you are done with INS. But do not go committing any crimes because it can get revoked unlike the citizenship.

U need to send bunch of evidences with little 2 page application.... Interview could be randomly selected or if there r not enough evidences submitted.... Technically for alien spouse it is the last lap to finish...but still alien needs to go through N 400 if he / she wishes to become citizen of USA.... Well after this alien is pretty much done with immigration unless he does some major crime and they deport him...

            Hi Nireemhamdi

How you doing these days. Did you get him to break off with the german girl yet?

In anyways, It will be almost 2 years before the 751 will get filed in your case. So you have 2 years to get the most of this marriage while you can. When the conditions are removed from the card there will be nothing keeping him from saying "bye bye".

If you are going to insist on the torture of staying in the marriage.. you should at least try to get the best out of it for your sake. Its called " I want to be treated like a Princess/Queen and have the respect that is befitting to me". No more ****** on the side.

If you do not file a joint 751 with him at the end of the 2 years... You may very well be the one saying "bye bye" to him as they put him in removal proceedings.

You may want to let him know this.. just so that it is clear for both of you. Right now the leverage is there for you. It will be gone soon, so enjoy your time while you can.

up.. know what ur thinking.. its not. Just a dose of reality.

To 4 Now...I love it..."I wanted to be treated
like a princess or a queen..." I essentiallly
did this....but am going to take your
advice and elaborate....that if I do not file
with him, the ship is blown up.......
he also mentioned that "his company could
              sponsor him".....that's okey...but I told him...
              that I didn't think it a good idea...to change
boats in the middle of the river so to speak....
              wouldn't you say I'm right.

He is coming up with the idea that his company
can sponsor him.....or that he just might
go home for a little while..... I said,....
that would be fine with me...basically, I know
..yes, maybe the company would sponsor him...but
maybe he will go home...I know he's going for
about 2 weeks in the summer.....

A point in question....he says... "my company
can sponsor me"........I say, that's fine.....
I did not say.... "Well, everything is marriage
based....and if one looks at the dates...of
                    green card expiration...etc....they can come
to an "educated" conclusion that the marriage
was for the green card..... in spite of the
fact...that we have bank accts, property, etc....(this certainly looks good)....but the dates...will do him in..to change to a company "sponsoring him"...\would certainly bring up a red flag in his case.. I would think.....

so it is better for him to "get his act together
                    and stay where he is"....

Pasha and 4Now....yep, he knows me well......
I know him too....for now, i'm going to hang
in there.....after the i751....then do we
do the N400.....as we did the AOS in Nov. 2003....now conditional perm. red....and this time ends in Nov. 2005.... I"m keeping a log....of what's going on....in case...I want to use it.. and terminate....he doesn't believe in divorce..at least he says....so maybe he thinks I will just fade away.....also "being married" is certainly a way for him 'not to commit to anyone on the side"....he may be only committed to himself....

Proud and high it flies up in the skies.

Not even I-751 can stop it

As to real interview: evryone I know of, who had conditional GC, had to go to the interview to remove the conditions.

                          Most common evidence:

                          1. Pictures
                          2. Common financial statements (bills, accounts, mortgage, car payments, letters to both spouses sent and received at the same address and etc.)
                          3. Ability to answer questions of Imm. Officer about your spouse, how you got into relationship, where you spent time together and etc.

In some cases Imm. Officer didn't go through #3, as presented evidence was overwhelming and convincing.

In one case there was a guy who married an American girl in his homecountry(real, good faith marriage).

She was a teacher in one African state. She fell in love with him while teaching there.
According to him, she is from very wealthy family in NYC.
His entire family income(including his uncles, aunts and etc.) was equal to couple of dozen lbs. of coffee beans [Literally, they sold homegrown coffee in the market, and proceeds were the only income they had].

Upon their arrival here he was ridiculed by every friend/relative of hers (She=tall, gorgeous, professional woman. He=dreadlocks, not too good looking, not able to speak english well and etc.)
Anyway, marriage didn't last past 3 months.
They separated ever since and even wanted to annule the marriage.

Two years later he had the interview.
He didn't give a damn about the results of the interview, so he went to INS unprepared, with little evidence ( at last minute he got notarized letters from former wife and some friends testifying that marriage wasn't sham).
Anyway, Officer interviewing him removed the conditions, and by now he might have already become a USC.

                          So, lighten up, people

                              Hey, 4now
                              Wazzzz up

Hey man, why do you always pick on ME for truthfully disclosing facts/perceptions as they exist on their own?
Not being a racist doesn't equal to twisting things around, lying about things and etc.

If I grew up with him and if the guy was my blood brother, I wouldn't change the way I told the story a bit.

Now, what bug is in there that keeps you jumping up-and-down?

                              Be cool, 4now
