  • To all my friends at ILW who applied/Used AP. Hello Kalla

    Hi Friends,
This Monday I am mailing my AP (Advance Parole) application. Just before I send it just wanted to make sure that I have everything. 1) 2 INS standard photos 2) Copy of AOS interview appointment letter and AOS receipt letter 3) A letter why I need AP 4) AP forms (I-131) 5) of course $165. That is all right? Please friends let me know. Thank you so much. The part about AP I wanted to ask is when it gets approved or whatever how do I know it? I mean do I get a letter/email or they call me to tell me. Once again thank you so much. Now regarding AP forms I just wanted to clarify something with you guys it says CLASS OF ADMISSION now I put F1 right? since I have always come to the US as a F1 student or should I say F1/AOS currently pending? Second question in APPLICATION TYPE I check D right? Third question I am using the AP just for one trip but still should I apply for MORE THEN ONE TRIP or Just say ONE TRIP? And last and important question how accurate does the INTENDED DEPARTURE DATE has to be well I are planning on being in India for 2 months AUG/SEPT I am 90% sure but if we don't get a good deal on tickets then we might postpone it to Feb 06 would I get in trouble for using it then instead of AUG/SEPT 05 In the EXPECTED LENGTH OF TRIP I put 2months right? Thank you so much for your time and consideration friends. I really appreciate it for taking the time to read my long posting. I am really sorry about that just want to make sure my application is up to date you know. Once again thank you.

    Hi Kalla,
First of all thanks for your earlier posting man thank you. So what do you think about my above subject? Let me know. Yes today I went to the Congressman. Talked to the congressman's assistant and he was pretty impressed with the investigations I had done by my self he told me he will start a investigation too and hopefully should have a answer in an month (Gave him the FBI email we received and all that stuff) All he did was told me to sign a privacy paperwork or something (congressman asking federal agencies on my behalf or something) did you do the same? Oh by the way how long did your congressman take to get back to you? Let me know. So are you still calling and faxing the FBI about your case? any new news from your side. Let me know.

      Hi Raju..
Still in the same limbo..right now I am concentrating on my career, and trying not to think about Immigration. The decision will come when it will come. As soon as I reach the one year waiting period, I am planning to talk to a lawyer to explore my options.
My congressperson basically sent an inquiry to Immigration on my behalf, and Immigration responded to acknowledge receipt. But they never gave a specific timeline as for when they will get back to the congressman liaison regarding my case.
I never filed for AP so someone else might give you advice on the matter.
Good luck, and make sure that you never accrued any overstay period in the US before travelling as AP is not a garantee of being allowed back in the US territory.
      I'll keep you posted!

        Kalla,
the more i read from you, the worse i feel for you and the worrier I feel about my case. I have not been called for interview yet but don't know if i will end up like you or not.
Are you from a specific contry or some special case?

          Andy,
I am from a tiny non islamic African country, I don't have a common name, never been convicted of anything, I entered the US legally and I am currently a grad student at Columbia University in NYC.
Actually, every time I have been to the CIS District Office in NYC , the answer I get from Immigration Officers is the following: " Your case is fine, we are just waiting for background checks to be completed"

          Funny isn't it!

Good luck for your case and keep us updated.

most of what you said is true for me. I came here legally, from an Asian country, never been convicted. I'm a graduate student at the Graduate center in midtown.

Hope all is well for us. Keep us posted.
