  • Ontario DL in Illinois

I'm Canadian permanent resident livening in Illinois and I have Ontario driver license, can I drive in Illinois with Ontario driver license. What will happen if a police stop me any issue or problem?

I think as a Canadian PR you need permission to live in US. I'm not sure, but other members will know more than me. I think as far as driver's license your current address needs to be listed and if you are "living" in US and DL says Canada you could be issued a citation, maybe more.

You can drive with an Ontario License. If they stop you, you are a Canadian resident. Lots of Canadians are here for six months every year and live in both places. Some are called snow birds. They keep their Canadian driver licenses.
