  • I-864EZ Question!

I need your help answering Part 5 on Form I-864EZ:
I worked for IBM and I am on disability since 2000.
I am suing my earned income (W-2 and 1099) to meet the requirement to sponsor my stepchild (I-130 Approved). Part 5 has two options:
    a. for Employed as
    b. for Retired since
Do I consider my self employed as (but disable)
or Retired since (disable since 2000)?

I called USCIS and they couldn't answer my question, they asked me to seek legal advice from an immigration attorney.

I called the NVC and they suggested option b.

    Please advice,
    Thank you

The answer depends on what the definition of what you are now is (whether it qualifies under "Employed as" or "Retired since").

You must know better how to answer it.
