AOS is a matter of discretion. Depending on the findings of the security check, the adjudicator may consider the negative factors (if any) to grant a denial of the benefits.
Again, this is a matter of discretion.
A conviction can be a negative factor if it's recent in time and you have not provided any evidence of rehabilitation. Also, a case can be denied on "reason to believe" grounds if any drug offenses are found or other terrorism-related activities.

Guys,
My name check is cleared. My question is how long does it take to get approval letter or Green card after the name check is cleared. As I mentioned officer told me that my file is with the supervisor after the clearance.
So how long would it take for them to give the answer?

Check your application status online at CIS website.
When you see the message stating that your application can't be found in the system - you will know it's been approved.
