    ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW
"Administrative Review" refers to a Consular Official placing the case "on hold" because the Visa Petitioner or Beneficiary FAILED TO PASS the security name check or background check, or because the Consulate or State Department or Homeland Security NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE some issue or matter in the case more closely.

Cases placed into Administrative Review can ADD WEEKS OR EVEN MONTHS to processing time and final decision on visa issuance, typically in most cases AT LEAST 4 to 8 weeks additional time. Under current regulation, there is no right of appeal within State Department or Homeland Security for administrative review status.

*STATUS CHECK OF CASES IN ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW: Status Checks of cases in administrative review should first be addressed to the Consulate in question. The State Department's Office of Visa Services can also assist in status checking of cases which are unusually delayed. Tel: 202-663-1225 (Punch 1, Then 0, Avg. Wait Time Approx. 15 minutes to Speak with a Live "Visa Specialist", ET 8:30 AM to 5:00PM). E-Mail: usvisa@state.gov

Me &family had an immigrant visa interview on dec. 28, 07. At the end of interview we were handed a blue sheet saying "temerarily rejected for further admimistrative processing"

Please sare your experiance. what it means and what to expect in terms of time it will take and any worst case senerio.

    The embassy was Islamabad, pakistan

    I will appreciate your input

    Plz ready the following:
1988- went to US on B1/B2 visa got entry for 6 months. got extension for another six months in 1989. worked on EAD up to June 1992. Came to Pakistan on parole document. left after a month. Came back again to Pakistan in Jan 1993. Got B1/B2 visa again in 1994 reached US on New Years Eve the same year. At the airport immigration official took my passport for some further processing and paroled me into US. Asked me to go to the immigration court on the date mentioned on parole document. Which I never did. Stayed in US until about April 1997 and decided to comeback.Since then i never went to US

My brother A US citizen filed for me in may 1995 which became current in 2005. Filled all the required paper work, paid fees and the interview in Islamabad embassy scheduled for dec 28 2007.

Where the counselor officer had all the visa details on me.She said your case need further investigation So she put stickers on passport and Handed me a blue sheet of paper which says "Your case has been temporarily refused for further administrative processing. We cannot give you a definite date when the processing will be completed, but the minimum time is approximately six weeks. There is no maximum time limit.
When your case is approved, we will call you to request your passports, so that we may put visas into them. When you are requested to return your passports, please send them by ...................................................................."

Can some one tell me where I am heading? I have no idea what to expect next. Should I get help from a lawyer?

    Please help. Thanks in Advance
