    can anyone please give me more information on the new p.e.r.m law? I am currently a student teacher & my school wishes to sponsor me for employment.       For all I know, it will now take 6-8 weeks to approve what used to take 2-3 years before.
      PERM will take effect on Monday, March, 28th.
      There is an apprehension in Immigration Lawyers community that PERM will encourage thousands of employers to overuse it, thus creating a 5-10 years backlog for those filing EB/GC.
      In which case many people on H-1b would be forced to leave US before their GC is approved.

      Generally speaking, PERM is quite complicated [ regulation-wise], much more so than the old LCA.
      Which means you would prefer to have professional Immigration Attorney to file for you.
