Hi Cafrine,
I applied in NYC, but received Notices of Action from MSC. The application receipt number is the number on the NOA.
Just got the best present in the mail today - my permanent green card. So from date of interview / passport stamp to today is almost exactly 2 months.

Hi Leem,
where did you file your case? I filed in San francisco. had my interview in march 2004. Awaiting security clearance.
Where do I find my application receipt number? The only number I see starts with an A. Is that it?

Leem,
You are right, I just checked mine, the last time my case was updated was the day after my interview ...3 months ago...ever since my file has not even been opened. Which explains why i have not received anything so far.

This site really works....
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp
I registered and added my case numbers on this site, and have received updates on my cases (I-130 and I-485). Had my interview last July and had been waiting for the card in the mail. I got an email from this site saying my approval letter is in the mail, and to notify them if I haven't received it in 14 days.
Sometimes the "update" date on your list of cases changes, but the message doesn't.... this means BCIS had done something to your case.
I found this somewhat reassuring because 3 weeks before my interview date, the update date changed, which led me to assume that my security checks must have been received by the district office.
