H-1B quitting job

If someone is here on an H-1B visa and then quits the job, how long do they have before they have to return to their country of origin? I believe it is 2 weeks. I that is the case can a person obtain some kind of extension to find a job or to interview for a job that is greater than the 2 weeks?
