    Nothing to do with Immigration (other than the fact he's a Brit) but really, this country, the USA with all it's wealth and resources and watching those lines of Americans waiting to get in was like watching some 3rd world country.

    Sad, really sad.

      Hi Brittie ,

      Will take a look when I get home today - no speakers at work . Taking a look at the comments posted, this appears to be a must-see video. Thanks for sharing!

            20 years ago, every employee in the US had free medical coverage, free dental, etc... You could choose what doctors you wanted; no health plans, no HMO's, etc... Of course people who chose not to work complained; they wanted the same benefits. American politicians, always looking for a vote, fell for the propaganda that there was something wrong with our system. We were told that Europeans had a better system; universal medical coverage; it was FREE FREE FREE, no one had to pay for anything. The absurdity was apparent to anyone who knows that nothing is free. It was not a coincidence that these countries with universal health insurance also had unemployment rates 4X as great as ours and zero growth. It was not a coincidence that up until 20 years ago, we had the best and most advanced medical systems in the world. So to placate the welfare addicts, politicians sold out capitalism and free market economics. Now we have this mess.

            Time to restore American Capitalism to undo the damage socialism has done.

            1. No more universal health care mandates.
            2. Stop stealing from hardworking people and giving it to freeloaders
            -Too old? Too bad.
            - Too poor? Too bad.
            -Too stupid? Too bad.
            3. Reform medmal litigation to avoid excess awards; disbar lawyers who abuse the system
            4. Open the immigration doors to let in more nurses and doctors
            5. No more government hand outs to special interest groups (ie. AIDS; AIDs research gets 10X more funding than the top 10 death related diseases COMBINED)
            6. Let hospitals bust up unions
            7. Stop integrating medical schools and making people die in the name of diversity
            8. Allow children to cut off their parents from getting expensive procedures that prolong their wasted lifes and splurge their childrens inheritance.
            9. Get rid of the INSANE immigration rule that foreign doctors that graduate from US medical schools must go back for at least 2 years
            10. Bomb the offices of the American Medical Association Union and kill their leaders

              I'm sorry and not trying to be disrespectful, but this is just false. I don't remember anytime during my working years when medical and dental coverage was free. Sure, the employer used to bear more of the costs than today, but never was it free (at least not in my case and I worked for a firm that had better benefits than most).

                Thanks brit for posting This. If they went to Every state I Think the true numbers would come Out That More people In USA than ever thought Possible DO NOT HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE. The Cost Of Insurance Even In Very Large Company's, has Become Un Affordable. Small Example For Self Employed $1200 Month For Fair Coverage in My area. Larger Company's $600 - $800 month. No Dental Anymore.

                In 40 Years I never remembered Ever Having FREE health Care.

                Awesome Video. RAM = GOOD STUFF!!!

                  Great video Brit

                  and a great man for being mobile by taking the show on the road.

                  SOM post because of being mixed with facts & opinions & a ltlle bit of Michael is misleading some here.

                  I thimk hes trying to say employers 20-30 yrs ago paid full medical & dental for their employees. ("free healthcare "as an employer paid benefit provided 4 employee) Now there is none or limited paid by employer by comparison. This could have been remedied if the govt supported giving credits to employers that provided these benefits.

                  The employer is not getting any breaks that end up making the company go under, removing employees and rehiring same employee as subcontractor to save money on benefits and payroll taxes etc. This would help the fulltime workin people in usa. Then the govt would only have to deal with a smaller section of the legal populaion. Welfare medical already covers children & some adult cases.

                    I Do remember Some Businesses offering Full Medical Coverage As a benefit. Not anymore! . i think The only 2 Left with Fair coverage that Is affordable To the employee Are jobs in The government Or health care System Itself. All Medical Fields.

                    What About everyone Else???

                      Duh you were not working in the US 20 years ago retard; every company paid for benefits 20 years ago; before the gvernment started making everyone pay for drug addicts and welfare addicts;

                      MY CHALLENGE TO ALL WHO QUESTION THE MIGHTY MICHAEL;

                      Go to any city hospital and listen and watch; how many people in the emergrncy room are true emergencies????

                      See any blood? No, anyone in serious pain, no. 99 % of the people in the emergency rooms are there for routine visits because they are too lazy/dumb to make a doctors appointment; but they don't care because they don't have to pay - the rest of us do. This is what shoots up the costs of medical care many hundreds of times what it should be.

                      But God forbid we should make people pay or turn away non-emergencies; better to complain than to solve a problem.

                        I was working in the US 20 years ago and no company that I knew of paid 100% benefits. There have always been deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses associated with medical plans. I do agree they used to pay more benefits than now, but it was never entirely free for the employee. That's just bizarre. Perhaps it was you who wasn't employed in the US 20 years ago.

                          SoM: I think you are viewing the for-profit medical system here through rose-tinted spectacles

                          There's a much simpler reason (to me anyway) why people such as those on the video are uninsured/underinsured. They have little or no $$ and/or maybe excluded by having pre-existing medical conditions.

                          What's wrong with Universal Healthcare anyway? You pay for the insurance while working and use it when you need it regardless of your ability to pay.

                          My ex used to work for Disney and under her insurance (one of the best in the country at the time, Prudential 1999-2000):

                          Co-pay doc visits = $5
                          Prescriptions = $5
                          ER visits = $50 (free if admitted)
                          AND 100% cover on anything else!

                          I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in 2000 and had several CAT scans including a bone density scan and finally a biopsy. Never paid anything on co-pays! And no wait period for me when I was added on the insurance. Immediate cover.

                          Of course, she only made about $6.50ph. The rest was all to pay for the medical insurance, worth about $6000 a year.

                          Disney's policy was to be family friendly to their employees. I believe it's not as generous now.
