  • Small Question!! big trouble

I appiled for low income housing, was told by the specialist I was ineligible. prior to filling the application I knew, I had TPS granted from INS. Then INS replied me later stating I did not apply and begain removal proceeding. went to court, presented the court TPS they (INS)give me. INs juge supended the case, now I call the specialist about my TPS status and not F1 as stated by INS . despite I enter USA with F1. Do you have any ideas if person with TPs can apply for low income housing? need a place to sleep, I work have a job. please help or advise is highly appreciated. Thanks

        Hello Rickhoss

Did they give you an explanation as to why you were ineligible? Did she say it had to do with your immigration status?? Need more input

This type of benefit is not usually available to single able body males. Was your income above the guidelines etc?

In general these benefits are reserved for single parents, phsically and mentally challenged individuals, or mental disability cases. etc. receiving SSi, and some housing reserved for low income retired folks.

Do you have special needs or fall into any of the above category?

If you are a single adult with no disabilities and no minor children, then the chances are very low that you will be able to get housing benefits, whether you financially qualify or not. I know a girl who applied and she was going to get it until the social worker asked her what her child's name was. She was like "What child??!! I don't have any children." After that they took back what they were about to give her.
          Have a nice day
