    Thanks Houston!

Does anyone else have any experiences or suggestions regarding the above above situation?

it appears that admission is discretionary and it all depends on what the cbp believes... if your parents can establish that they do come here just to visit and not to stay, there's no reason as to why they could be denied entry. Again, it's up to the inspector, but if they're asked if they have a pending application for immigration benefits, they better tell the truth. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm trying to help.

    Hi folks,

I am hoping that someone here can help me get the right information. I am a US citizen. My parents have non-immigrant tourist visas. I was just planning on filing petetions for I-130 for them while they are in their own country. I have to put it on hold now till I know it for sure. Does POE deny admission as a tourist (non-immigrant status)to this country when they know I-130 is pending? If they grant admission, will it be possible to have their addresses changed and file for I-485 (AOS)after their arrival? I sopke with an USCIS representative, and she told me that yes it is possible to do an AOS. However, she said it is not the most accurate way of doing it. She also said that, POE may deny their admissions once they know I-130s have been filed on their behalf. I just wanted to have a second thought. Does POE know if I-130 have been filed for the travellers?
