i-130 its close to a year

I had an asylum case pending before an immigration judge since 2003. in 2006 i got married and we filed an i-130 with the st louis district office. we had our interview in november 2006 and the officer said he will let us know by mail if he needs additional material. No requests or results have came out for that interview. We did an infopass and all we were told was that there is no updates in the system for the i-130. does it take this long for an i-130 interview?
the judge said he withdrew the asylum case because it was easier for me to adjust using marriage.
