Hello everyone,
I485 through marriage to a US citizen
Applied - April 19, 2006
Interview - Sep 15, 2006 - approved pending namecheck
File transferred to a local office (Seattle) for processing - March 31, 2008
Namecheck cleared - May 15, 2008
1. 1st Infopass - May 26, 2006. Was told that case had been assigned to an IO on April 25, 2008 and that I should see a decision in 90 days (July 25, 2008).
2. 2nd Infopass - Jun 25, 2006. Was told that case had been assigned to one IO on March 31, who transferred it to a supervisor who then transferred it to a new IO on April 30 and that I should expect a decision in 120 days (Aug 30, 2008)
3. I contacted a senator who gave me a response that the namecheck cleared on May 15, 2008 and that I should have a decision by 30 days of the senator's inquiry - Aug 10, 2008.
Thank you for bearing with me. My questions, if anyone can help.
1. Do you know why the case might have been transferred to a supervisor first and then to a new IO?
2. What should I do as far as these always changing dates that USCIS gives me? Is my best option just to go with the information that the senator gave me and pursue this again in August because I know that if I case was only assigned to an IO on May 15,2008 - they're not going to give me a decision by August. Unless they feel pressure from the senator on this issue. Any thoughts on this?
3. Does anyone have experience with how long it has taken the Seattle DO to approve cases once they have been assigned to an IO?
