Does anyone know how long a secuirty clearance takes. my hubby and i have been waiting for three months. everytime i check on the status i get told they are waiting for a security clearance.

it could take up to 1 yr or may be more than that ... it depends on individual cases ... Good luck ...PashaComment

In my particular case, it took almost 8 months to get through... so be patient and keep calling them coz sometimes your case may be lost in the process.... so keep asking them is a better option. Good luck. Syed Javed (CUNY)Comment

What is a security check and is this something new? Or is it something that came in process after 9/11. Because my husband and I went to interview and no stamp on passport because of background check. However, I have no idea and never heard of this.Comment
