*GASP* DH was listed as an Illegal Alien

OMG! DH just got permanent residency the other day but had applied for his drivers license through his work authorization almost two months ago. They said he would have his hard copy license in 30 days , the 30 days came and went so he called to see what was happening. The DMV told him they were back logged and that it would be another two weeks. Those two weeks came and went so this morning he called the DMV again , and they said that they had sent the license and it was sent back undeliverable , they gave him a number to call to find out the details.

DH calls and speaks to a man that said the license was never sent because when they contacted border patrol to verify his work authorization the DMV was told that he was an Illegal Alien with no paperwork. The man felt something was wrong so he contacted Homeland Security directly who verified that DH is a non conditional permanent resident. DH came very close to having people come here and arrest him!

In the end its all ok and his license is now on its way but GEEEZ one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing!

Yes and isn't it great - maybe not in your case - but in other cases, it is very beneficial that no one here actually knows what they are doing.

Thats right, and it is also the reason why posters like Hudson should rethink their position on goverment bureaucracy.
