  • We want to hire canadians to work in california

I'm doing a pre-research for our company that is interested in sponsoring canadians to work in California as caregivers.
Where do i start my research? i have looked on uscis.gov but not sufficient info i can find. Is it more feasible to hire canadians thru manpower agency?
Thank you and i'm looking forward for serious response.

In case you allready know some canadiens peoples who want this job - Your company has to file a petition to Labor Department for this position, after receiving a notice from DOL you have to make an add in the news paper and a recruitment report and after that maybe you will receive DOL Certificatiion for hiring foreigners for caregiver position. Then you must file a petition I-129 to USCIS after approval it will be send to American Consulate in canada and the futures employees will get the h-2B visa
I thing is better to hire an immigration specialist to handle that case or you should be browsing dol and uscis site for info.

      All the best!

        H2B is for temporary workers.

        And is limited in numbers.

Just trying to work out why Canadians would want to work as caregivers in CA.

The simple answer is that you are wasting your time.

I agree with Someone12, as does American law.

You CANNOT specifically hire Canadians for those positions...even if the positions cannot be filled by Americans, or those legally able to be employed in America, it is illegal to hire Canadians to the exclusion of all others.

In order to obtain a work visa for Canadians, other than those already legally authorized for employment, you MUST prove that you cannot reasonably find an American worker, or a worker legally authorized to work in America.
