for those who live along the border you will know how tempting it is for young men, just barely at the age of being called adult, to cross the border and look for fun.
as my posting said the person they met in mexico is known to them. they attended school together. why would you think that the person next to you right now, as you read this, is an illegal imigrant. and so this person needed a ride home. HAD what looked like legal california resident documents.

What happen if the son really has no intention of breaking any law? I'm as much as an opponent of illegal immigration as anyone here, but I'm still willing to give the benefit of the doubt.
Think of it this way, if your son or daughter happen to mingle with the wrong group of people who decide to run from the law or rob a store or something, are you just gonna let them getting thrown to jail ?

Actually, Someone12, I consider it a deterrent to make it clear to the poster and others that there can be serious and/or expensive consequences for breaking immigration law. Whatever this LPR did, he'll go thru a legal process which will decide it. At least he's here legally, for the time being.

he will be charged with alien sumuggling and Deportation proceedings will be initiated against him. eventually he will be deported. I,m in san diego also and I know this is everydays bussiness On RT 5., Many times it occured at TJ river near Southbay Waste water treatment Plant also, claim was similar but GC holder got deported. Get an attorney.. Talk to Aguire In downtown (I don't have his proper address, I think his office is somewhere near Horton plaza near first street) He may give you good advice.

I'm not an attorney, but this sounds like a time when you should definitely get one, especially one with experience in immigration law. At a guess, your son's age will play a factor. If he's a minor, he may be treated more leniently. However, I have read of a case of a young Mexican woman with a green card who did the same and was put in deportation proceedings. I don't know if she was finally deported or not--she and her family fought it--but it's better to get a lawyer involved before it gets that far.

Last night my son and friends crossed into Mexico. While there they met friends from the United States.
One friend asked for a ride back. He had what looked to be a valid California i.d. card.
It was not my son's car. He was not driving.
Turns out the friend was not a U.S. legal alien or citizen.
My son was arrested, his green card taken and eventually released into the custody of my wife.
How much trouble is he in?
