  • CASE RESOLVED

For those of you who have been responding to my posts a while back, I would like to say that my wife's I-130 and I-485 case have been resolved and approved. The Welcome letter is in the mail and waiting to get the green card now. How did it happen? My wife and I were planning and InfoPass appointment to go and see what is going on with her case after a ten month silence from the time we had our interview. This was supposed to happen at the end of March. However, for some reason, we decided to postpone until April. Well, we ended up going to InfoPass unplanned. How? In February, My wife filed a renewal application for her I-765. The case was closed about a weeks ago saying that she can not renew because her I-485 case has been approved on 05/31/2006. We were both shocked, since for ten months we did not know anything about any approval and even more shocked to realize that the date was the same day we had our interview. this would mean that the case was approved at the interview. As soon as we received the letter, we scheduled an InfoPass and yesterday we went. At the InfoPass was told that they did not have my case there and that the approval was not in the system and therefore it will be 30 days until we hear something. The officer was nice, made a copy of the letter that we received in regards to the I-765 renewal, and this morning I get the official emails stating that the I-130 and I-485 have been approved.

Thank you all for you help and advice. For those of you trying to talk to a person try the following numbers that I use:

    1-800-375-5283
    Press 1 - English
    Press 2 - Bypass Intro
    Press 3 - Getting Ready
    Press 6 - Customer Rep

It works and some of them have been helpful to us.

            Congrats!
This only shows that INS systems makes more mistakes then any other system i know. It looks like you case have been approved all this time. But at this point this does not matter to you - you finally got it.
