when my son was 8 months old he fell in the kitchen and hurt himself.
The DSS investigated to see if there was any abuse since doctors in beginning said it might be shaken baby syndrome.
while investigation was being done they briefly gave custody of my son to my sister and in the end of investigation we got our son back.
no charges were ever filed.
Will that affect my naturalization case ?

no. that will never effect your citizenship since you didn't do any crime.

so do we need to mention this during interview or not ?

Never lie to immigration. if they ask tell them the truth. if they don't, don't bother. i doubt if they will ask you about it. It's an accident. you are innocent. don't worry about it. you and your family should sit down and talk about the whole situation, in case if they ask. b/c you guys don't want to go they telling different stories. thats when it will become an issue.
