          Care to provide a legend for your abbreviations?
          PD = ????
          FP = filed petition?
          IV = interview?

          And, congrats

          PD 9/8/05
          FP 3/7/06
          IV 6/8/06
          oath 9/14/06
          The above is simply an opinion. Your mileage may vary. For immigration issues, please consult an immigration attorney.

              Which state did u take the oath? My son is still waiting from June 26th, 2006. How many days in advance you were told for the date of the oath?

              Thanks in advance

                I am in Washington, D.C. The letter was dated a month before the oath, but I received it about three weeks before the oath ceremony. The speed of the process depends on the District Office and the case load they have at that particular time. Good luck to you and your son.

                      Still Learning: Thank you very much.

                      Inspector45:

                      As you may already know, the oath ceremnony takes place once a month in D.C. and they have limited spaces. This week, a total of 345 people took the oath, 250 on tuesday and 95 on thursday.

                      I had to wait about three months after the interview to take the oath. It seems to be the pattern. My feeling is that your son might be contacted in the next few days for the October oath. Because of the high demand they are trying to do the oath twie a month. I know for sure that it takes place the second Thursday of each month. Since this month they did it twice, they might do it again in Oct. In which case it would the second Tues and Thurs of Oct.

                      If you want, you can start contacting them to get some info. 30 days after my interview I started calling and writing. I wrote the District Director and the District Court to request an expedited oath ceremony as provided for by the law. My claim was based on travel with my compnay.

                      If you don't hear from them in the next few days, let me know, I'll give you the names of some people to contact.

                      Good luck,

                      Newly

                        I really appreciate your response on this matter. My son also travels abroad, so your idea is great to write to the District Officer. Well, I will appriciate your information on this matter.

                        Thanks
