Uncontrolled and illegal immigration to the United States causes many problems for the nation. Just the tax revenues spent on welfare programs, education, health care, and housing for illegal immigrants is enough to make one question our immigration policies. Now, we can add another problem and cost associated with illegal immigration: illegal immigrants can make you sick.

In 2004, more than 650 people contacted Hepatitis A at a single Chi-Chi's Mexican restaurant in Pennsylvania. Four latter died. Federal data suggest that as many as 10 percent of the approximately 1,000 Mexicans who emigrate to the United States daily probably are infected with Chagas, said Dr. Louis V. Kirchhoff, a Chagas specialist and a professor at the University of Iowa's medical school. Chagas (Trypanosoma cruzi) is a parasitic insect that feeds on vital internals like the heart, nervous system, and GI tract. It is curable in its early stages, but kills about a third of the people infected if it is not caught in time.

In the past three years, according to a report from the New York Times in February, 2003, leprosy has infected over 7,000 people in the United States. It was brought in by illegal immigrants from India, Brazil, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Leprosy spreads by infected illegal aliens working in fast food, dish washing and hotels.

According to international health officials, about a third of the world's population is infected with the bacteria that cause tuberculosis. Personnel with the CDC's Division of TB Elimination have said in various reports that "immigration is a major force that sustains the incidence of tuberculosis" in the United States and other developed countries. "TB cases among foreign-born individuals remain disproportionately high, at nearly nine times the rate of U.S.-born persons," researchers said in a 2004 report in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. The United States currently has one of the lowest rates of TB in the world. Mexico has 10 times the rate of prevalence and many African countries along with Afghanistan, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Indonesia have rates that are 100 – 150 times higher. Making matters worse, a few years ago a Multi-Drug-Resistant (MDR) strain of TB has emerged that is resistant to all standard anti-TB drugs. Treating a single case of MDR TB costs over $250,000 and as much as $1,200,000 per person, and even with treatment about half of the patients with MDR-TB prematurely die.

The report found that people from outside the United States accounted for 53.3 percent of all new tuberculosis cases in this country in 2003. That was up from fewer than 30 percent in 1993. In 2003, nearly 26 percent of foreign-born TB patients in the United States were from Mexico. Another third of the foreign-born cases were among those from the Philippines, Vietnam, India and China, the CDC report said. Dr. Lee Reichman, executive director of New Jersey's Medical Schools National Tuberculosis Center, said, "We sit on the edge of potential catastrophe. Government won't take this problem seriously, doctors don't treat it, and the public thinks TB isn't **** enough to merit attention."

To show you how fast TB spreads; one infected illegal alien will infect between 10 to 50 Americans"”depending on his or her public contact. If that illegal alien has children, now numbering over 1.1 million illegal alien kids in U.S. schools, your kids are at risk. In the Santa Barbara News Press on April 25, 2004, the lead story titled, "Anatomy of an Outbreak" recorded that one illegal alien had spread his TB to 56 other people in the area. If you stand in line at K-Mart, Krogers, Safeway, Target, Sears, eat at fast food or go to the movies, you are inches away from those carrying the disease. If they sneeze, cough, laugh or touch your food, you and your children are at risk. One illegal in Denver last fall at a fast food restaurant affected over 1000 patrons with Hepatitis A. No telling how many he would have infected if he carried TB or leprosy. Is anyone talking about it?

Immigration reached record levels last year for the Northern European nation of Norway. In 2006, Statistics Norway (SSB) found that 45,800 immigrants arrived in the country "” 30% higher than 2005. The Europe Union, in 2005, had an overall net gain from international migration of +1.8 million people. This accounts for almost 85 percent of Europe's total population growth in 2005.

Two out of three charged with rape in Norway's capital are immigrants with a non-western background according to a police study. Rape charges in the capital Oslo are spiraling upwards, 40 percent higher from 1999 to 2000 and up 13 percent so far this year. For example, a 17-year-old Somalian was convicted of the rape of a young girl in Oslo one year ago. The court stated that the rape was unusually brutal and lasted for several hours. The Somalian choked the girl for so long that the medical doctor who examined the girl said that she could have died. The girl is now suffering from severe psychological problems in the aftermath of the attack. The youth was sentenced to four and half years in prison. The sentence also included another rape, where his Moroccan friend raped a 13-year-old girl whilst the Somalian helped to threaten her and keep guard. She has been traumatized from the incident.

While 65 percent of those charged with rape are classed as coming from a non-western background, this segment makes up only 14.3 percent of Oslo's population. Norwegian women were the victims in 80 percent of the cases, with 20 percent being women of foreign background. Police Inspector Gunnar Larsen of Oslo's Vice, Robbery and Violent crime division says the statistics are surprising - the rising number of rape cases and the link to ethnic background are both clear trends. Non-western immigrants in Norway are shown to rely heavily on welfare transfers for several years after immigration. Ekhaugen's study shows that 50% of the non-western immigrants who settled in Norway in the period from 1966 to 1975 were welfare dependent 25 years later. Ekhaugen concludes that "generally speaking, considering non-western immigrants, [expecting] a stable source of tax-revenue is [...] arguably a tad naive." A total of 285 300 persons in Norway had per 1.1.2006 immigrant background from a non-western country. The largest immigrant groups by country of origin are Pakistanis, Iraqis, Vietnamese and Somalis. The Iraqi immigrant population has shown a large increase over the last years. Non-western immigrants were younger than the Norwegian population as a whole.

Immigration is a major factor in sustaining tuberculosis disease in the United States. Minnesota has the largest Somali population in the United States. Although Somali persons constitute <1% of Minnesota's population, they accounted for 30% of tuberculosis cases reported statewide from 1999 through 2003. From 2001 through 2005, 81% of tuberculosis cases in Minnesota occurred in foreign-born persons; this finding can largely be attributed to dynamic immigration patterns that have included an influx of persons from areas of the world where tuberculosis is endemic. Nearly 90% of the U.S-born pediatric TB cases can be attributed to children born in the U.S. to foreign-born parents. Foreign-born TB cases in Minnesota are approximately 2 times as likely as U.S.-born TB cases to be resistant to any first-line anti-TB drug, including isoniazid (INH).

A series of robberies in Minneapolis in 2005 was connected to Somali youth gangs, prompting the city to commission its Civil Rights department to study the phenomenon and produce a report. Turns out that Somalis have a fairly organized gang structure. Report, issued in mid- January, names three gang groups: Somali Mafia, The Hot Boyz and The Rough Tough Somalis. Shukir Adan points out that Somali gangs are organizing themselves into clans, regions and groups that their families identify with. At one Minneapolis High school, Washburn Highschool, there was a recent incident in which Somali students assaulted American Born Black students with bats and other weapons sending several people to the Hospital. Churches (Lutheran and Catholic) brought many of the Somalians into Minnesota as refugees.

In Europe, the distribution of Somalis by country is hard to measure because Somali communities have grown so quickly in recent years. The 2001 UK census reported 43,691 Somalis, but recent estimates range between 95,000 and 250,000. Somalian immigrants in Denmark, whose homeland has a very high tuberculosis (TB) rate, are largely responsible for a 91% increase in incidence. Approximately 30% of all the children in the public schools of Copenhagen have a "foreign background". 60% of young immigrants dropped out of high school. Unemployment is much higher among non-western immigrants than among the population as a whole; 2001 statistics from the Ministry of the Interior says only 52% is employed. Especially recent immigrants like Somalis, who came to Denmark in the 1990s, have high unemployment rates, with only 13% employed. In the UK, the unemployment rate among Somali men is estimated to be around 87%.

The wave of robberies the city of Malmö has witnessed during this past year is part of a "war against the Swedes." This is the explanation given by young robbers from immigrant backgrounds when questioned about why they only rob native Swedes, in interviews with Petra Ã…kesson for her thesis in sociology. Almost 90% of all robberies reported to the police were committed by gangs, not individuals. "When we are in the city and robbing we are waging a war, waging a war against the Swedes." This argument was repeated several times. The Swedes don't do anything, they just give us the stuff. They're so wimpy." The young robbers do not plan their crimes: "No, we just see some Swedes that look rich or have nice mobile phones and then we rob them." Few areas in Sweden are worse hit by the current troubles than Malmö, the nation's third largest city. According to some estimates, the rapidly growing Muslim immigrant population may turn Malmö into a Muslim majority city within about ten years. Native Swedes are leaving the city in droves, as crime is rampant and the police publicly admit they don't control all parts of the city. Robberies have increased with 50 % in Malmö only during the fall of 2004. Lawyer Ann Christine Hjelm, who has investigated violent crimes in Svea high court, found that 85 per cent of the convicted rapists were born on foreign soil or by foreign parents. Rape cases involving children under the age of 15 are six times as common today as they were a generation ago. In an online readers' poll from the newspaper Aftonbladet, 82% of the women expressed fear to go outside after dark.

AIDS timebomb Everson Banda lured women for *** sessions at his holiday campsite caravan. The African asylum seeker "” who was in Britain illegally and nicknamed himself Ace "” bedded scores of women trippers and 13 co-workers in three seasons at the resort. Banda's most recent girlfriend was a Polish barmaid who regularly declared her love for him, saying she wanted to marry him. She left at the same time as her lover and returned to Poland unaware of his dark secret. In little town in England, a Malawian claimed asylum on the grounds that he was being persecuted as a homosexual. He then ploughed his way through the local female population, siring two illegitimate children and knowingly infecting at least three women with HIV. He is now serving a five year gaol sentence. One third of adults in Zimbabwe are HIV positive yet Britain continues to allow both immigrants and asylum seekers from Southern Africa without testing.
