  • CONFESSION OF AN ILLEGAL MEXICAN NAME JUAN RAMIREZ

Hi, i have a confession, you guys knows me as jean or albatross but My real name is juan ramirez, im a 25 year old illegal mexican that have been living in this country for the past 12 years now.

i was about 13 years old when i crossed the border and made it inside the united states in san diego..It became one of my mean dream when i saw my uncle came back to mexico and kept telling us how great america is..He was a newly nationalized american citizen with unlimited apportunity..I told my uncle at that point that i wanted to go up north and after talking to my mother for days, he convinced her that she should let me leave and head up north for a better life.

My uncle had paid 2 individuals about $20,000 to help my cousin and i, make it across the border...I dont really remember a thing about this specific journey because i was inside a van and the jouney took at least 2 3 hours...When the van stopped, the 2 guys opened the door and gave me a telephone number, when i asked them what is this for, they told me that it was my uncle number and they have to leave us here and head back to mexico. I thought those guys were joking untill they got inside the van and sped off, back to mexico where we came from....they just left me and my cousin in the middle of an unknown city and we didnt even know what to do.

I remember the first thing i did when i hopped out of the van was, i bowed down and kissed the soil...reason i did that is because my mom had told me to promise her if i ever make it across the border safely, i should kiss the american dirt because its like telling god "thank you for allowing me to get inside this great country, the country where dreams come true.I instructed my little cousin to do the same so God could also bless him.

The smugglers had given me instruction on how to dial an american phone number, so me and my little cousin, (he was about 7 years old at that time), looked for a phone booth for like an hour..After we finally found one, we dialed the number just like the smugglers instructed us to do...My uncle picked up and he asked us to describe the place where we were so he could come pick us up...He told us to look for this specific place to go and sleep whyle we wait for him...He lived in the east coast in new york so he took a day in a half to get there via greyhound stranportation.

The smugglers had also given us $100 before they left, so we could buy food whyle we wait for my uncle..I looked for someone that looks mexican then asked them where i could find a store that sells food for me and my little cousin...At the time, i didnt know any english, so we always tried to look for someone that looks mexican during our days in the streets of san diego, then tried to ask them informaion on stuffs.

When my uncle finally got there, he was so happy we made it throught. we went to the greyhound station, bought 2 greyhound tickets for me and my cousin then we left, on our way to the east coast...i remember just admiring the american landscape and nature watching throught the window of the greyhound bus..it was beautifull, i had never seen stuff like this in mexico.

To make a long story short, after arriving in new york, my uncle registered me and my cousin in a catholic grammar school...after i graduated from grammar school, i moved to new jersey with my sister and went to high school..After i graduated from high school, i learned that i was illegal and couldnt continue with my education to college or get a job...fortunatly, a mexican friend of mine told me i could get some fake documents so i could work, and go on with my life...i been working at the same job for the past 6 years because im too afraid to leave my current job and not being able to get a new one because of my undocumneted status and this brings me to here..

I been living in the shadow for so many years, and now, with all this amnesty talk, i will finally have a chance to benefit from the american dream.

i own a grammar school, high school diplomat, which will put me in line to benefit from the dream act...i have been residing in the U.S for the past 12 years since i was 13 and i currently have a job, so this will also put me in line to benefit from the 5 years rules with a job....

Im perfectly set up to benefit from the amnesty...i cant find anyone more deserving from this amnesty then me...never got arrested, clean criminal record, so im good to go, congress needs to pass the amnesty very soon.

Again, my name is juan ramirez, and im a proud illegal mexican, but soon, i will be put on a 12 year journey to citizenship, and i will make sure all the bigots knows when i get my U.S Citizenship 12 years from now.

Ok, so have you filed your taxes yet. You do know you are now required to file income taxes per IRC 1, 61, and 6012. If you have not, we could have you for tax evasion.

I applaud you for coming out. I know how difficult it is to publicly acknowledge your status. Immigrants, legal and illegal, have always been looked down on by our society and it's time for all immigrants to hold their heads high. America should embrace people of other cultures not disregard them!

I wish you all the best Juan. I hope your dreams come true and one day you can truly be free from the shadows. You will probably appreciate your citizenship (one day) more than any "American" born here who takes it for granted. I applaud you for wanting to be American and not being ashamed of your Mexican roots. That is hard for some of my friends since they are constantly looked down upon as a lesser person for the color of their skin (prieto) and that they were born in a Country just steps from America. GOOD LUCK!!

no matter how you spell it, irresponsibility is still irresponsibility. Those who applaud law violaters should go ask for the release of everyone in prison, or consider moving to a different country, since you obviously have no patriotism for the United States of America.

There are so many latinos that find their selves in the same situation. But it will all change in the near future and finally you will be liberated and be able to exceed to your full potential.

Am I the only one who is appalled that a parent would surrender their seven-year-old and thirteen-year-old children into the hands of human smugglers? I think that the President needs to revise his oft-used refrain to reflect the situation more accurately: "Family values DO STOP at the Rio Grande."

Jean2005: You say that your uncle paid the human smugglers approximately $20,000 to smuggle you and your cousin into America. Rather than conspiring with human smugglers, it appears to me that a gift of $20,000 to your family in Mexico would have been a far better use of this money.

now now SunDevilUSA...don't confuse the issue with mere logic. Illegal aliens (and their supporters) don't understand the concept of logic because their brains are the size of walnuts.

Has anyone considered that the story is a fake, well at least with with ages that the person is claiming?

who cares, really? An illegal dirtbag is an illegal dirtbag, and lying is just another genetic feature of illegals.
