We recently submitted I-864 and I-864A affidavit of support forms in connection with an immediate relative application. I downloaded the forms from the ILW.COM website and filled them out appropriately. Well...we had them returned to us because the forms we filled out expired on 9-30-06.
I know, I know....a mistake on my part...but in comparing this "OLD" version to the new version that expires on 10-31-07 - the 2 forms are identical in every way. The only difference is a small notation on the top of the page that says "expires on 9-30-06" versus "expires on 10-31-07". Why is it that the USCIS can not accept the forms filed seeing that there is not any changes on the "so-called" newer version?
Secondly, can I simply white out the date on top of the old forms that I mailed in and re-submit the exact same forms with the corrected date or will I need to re-do the forms in its entirety?
Has this happened to anybody else?
