  • Explain an arrest record : can I add a GOOD MORAL CONDUCT LETTER?

    hI,

    I am ready to file based on 5 yrs rule

    so sorry ive to say i was once arrested in 2009 for patronizing a lady and
    convicted of a minor violation of disorderly conduct (penal code 240.20)
    ive been here 10 years and never got in trouble except this

    On the n400 form there is no space to explain the crime i was charged for so i will need
    a separate sheet;

    can i attach a sorry letter with maybe a GOOD Conduct letter from a CHurch/employer//others
    where i state i am a good resident?
    a lawyer advised me to bring this good conduct letters at the interview: but can i do it now?

    i think it will not hurt my case if i send extra documentation that is in my credit;

    pls advice

    thank you

        Hi Peppa and welcome,

        Were you convicted following the arrest in 2009? If so, was it felony or misdemeanor? Also, when did you receive the disorderly conduct ruling? I believe USCIS likes to see a pattern of good behavior (no arrests) for at least a five year period before filing for citizenship. The longer you wait after your convicitions before filing, and as long as you stay out of further trouble with the law, it will be seen in a more positive light.

        Good luck.

          No doubt if you give some church member enough money, they will write any kind of letter....but who would believe it? I wouldn't...that BJ was expensive, huh?
