  • N-400 Residency

If I apply N 400 from a state in west coast, but I actually work in east coast, would the INS officer know about this? If they found out, what will happen to my application and my green card status? Is there any written regulations regarding this? Thanks.

        adam,

I did not see any regulations about that in the intructions.
Another question, if you have no job for few months when they interview you for N400, would this be a problem? Because when you move to a new state sometimes it takes few months to get a job. Thank you.

Go to uscis.gov and look for Eligibility for Naturalization.
Sec.316 No perosn except as otherwise provided in this title shall be naturalized, unless such applicant:
          (1) Immediately preceding the date of filing his application for naturalization has resided continuously, after being lawfully admitted for permanent residence, within the United States for at least five years and during the five years immediately preceding the date of filing his application has been physically present therein for periods totaling at least half of that time, who has resided within the State or within the district of the service in the United States.
Do not try to play with any Government Agency.
They have all the records of your movement.
