for an immigrant visa, no....for a tourist visa, yes, but 'sponsorship' for a tourist visa is meaningless...they still have to prove that they will return to their country (whatever it is) after a visit, no matter what you write on a piece of paper, no matter how much money you have in a bank, no matter what your job is, no matter how many promises you make on their behalf...
