You need to start with the here. Basically, it is through the au pair program, but it may be possible to go through the H visa route, generally the H-2b visa.

If the person wants to hire someone from their country, where culture and language are probably more important than where a person is born, then that is one of the job requirements.

ole Hudson knows jack about our visa laws....H2b visas are for seasonal workers, and there is no season for changing bed pans....nor are they to be used for anything relating to nursing....they are for unskilled labor...nor is a B1 appropriate if the disabled person is an American citizen or green card holder....

You are confusing the word "temporary" with the word seasonal S12. The H-2b visa has a maximum time of 3 years can be obtained.

Second, since the person will not qualify for the H-1b visa in most cases, it will provide time for the workder to get the credentials within that time, including the renewals.

A caregiver can be a nurse, but most are not and they are generally not even LVN's either.

This will depend on how to define qualified. If a language other than English has to be one of the qualifications, it will eliminate 99% of the potential applicants.
