News on FBI name check

Yes it does take years. I know individuals that it took 4 or 5 years for FBI to process "FBI name check" and if they didn't file law suits it would have been even longer. Yes this process is mostly computerized but not entirely and FBI is really slow. I am waiting for clearance of FBI name check for over 15 months. I hired an attorney and we are going to file a law suit in federal court. She is pretty confident that it will be resolved positively.

Does anyone know if there is any news on FBI name checks?

I have read on some web site that FBI officials are working on putting new system in place that will be a lot faster and will not take years to process security checks. However, estimates are that the system will not be ready till 2010 or later.

Any inputs are appreciated.
