i married a student from kenya! here in the US in the stat of Ohio! I was wondering is our marriage legal with out a visa first meaning that are we still not really legally married in the eye of the law because i have not filled out paper yet for her to get her green card or a fiance visa? but we are married and have a marriage lic since 10/17/2005

If you obtained a marriage license and went through a wedding ceremony you are indeed married. Her immigration status is separate. If you are a USC you can now start the process of filing for a green card on your wifes behalf. Go to www.uscis.gov and look up "permanent residency" under FAQ
