Immigration procedures in LA school district...

Dear you all,

I am an F1 student and want to be a teacher in the Los Angeles School District. Does anybody has any idea of how do they support foreign teachers in terms of work authorization/H1B/greencard ?

If you are an education major, they will help you.
Try passing CBEST first and you can find job in teaching in CA & Nevada.

Thanks, Bugsy. You're always very encouraging. But I'd like to know at least how do they process the H-1B applications and/or greencard ? Will they begin the sponsoring process immediately or wait until I get all credentials ?

At this point you have to inquire with the Education department of the school where you currently study.The department almost always encourages people who would like to try teaching.Best of luck!

Bugsy, I tried many times to call the district but after they forward my call, noone ever pick up the phone.

I will take the CBEST exam in this August. I really need to at least have an idea how do they process the sponsorship things.

I wonder if there're any lawyers or ILW's lawyers who worked for such case.
