  • priorty dates??????????????

So, we're still in a quandary about the immigration debate. But can someone tell what has happened to the prioity dates that haven't moved on family based petitions since April 2005? And what happens when an immigration bill is finally passed?

These are the Newest (June 2006) Priority dates for Family Based Petitions..

      .....AllOthers..CHINA..INDIA...MEXICO..PHILIPPINES
      1st 22APR01 22APR01 22APR01 01JAN92 01SEP91
      2A* 22APR01 22APR01 22APR01 22JUL99 22APR01
      2B 01AUG96 01AUG96 01AUG96 22OCT91 08JUL96
      3rd 01AUG98 01AUG98 01AUG98 01MAR93 01JUL88
      4th 01MAR95 01MAR95 15AUG94 15AUG93 01NOV83

As far as the Immigration bill going through the wait time for a Adjustment of Status for a beneficiary of that Bill(As passed by the Senate) would mean a wait time of 6 years + all these years behind most of the already applicants.
A rough estimation would mean that you would have a EAD for as long as you're in the process, but your GC would arrive approx. 13-15 yrs after you initially apply, since this isn't like the 1986 IRCA, Amnesty, where those applicants were processed within a time frame of 180 days, most of applicants receiving their Temp. Res. Card about a year after they started the process. This time everyone would wait in the back of the line and wait for a Visa like everyone else.

My apoliges, I should have made point clearer. i'm already in the process with a priority date of May 2002. What happens to us when something is passed in November? Also, now where on the subject, will those under the proposed immigration reform be allowed to travel?

        Thanks
