  • What Latinos Can Learn from the Tea Party Debate?

Well the first ever Tea Party Republican debate is over and what did the Latino voter and the Latino populace in general learn?

As writer Andres Oppenheimer noted, ‘These guys don’t like us’ and I will expound on that and say they don’t like anyone probably not even themselves.

There were not many surprises from this newly minted political group that has never espoused much love, respect or attention to the Latino voter. Personally I was surprised to find out there was a ‘civil war’ in Mexico according to Newt ‘I-never-found-a-Tiffany-diamond-I-didn’t-love’ Gingrich and that according to Herman Cain the country of Chile has a better social security system then the U.S.

What Latinos can learn is that not being coward, speaking up for yourself loudly and making a case in media and throughout all channels permitted by First Amendment DOES WORK.

What did Latinos or other immigrant groups do to voice their opinions and defend their positions on a massive scale? Where do you see Latino's or immigrants holding rallies, documenting each incident of harassment, hatred and persecution faced by millions of people of color for no other reason than their perceived ethnic origin and/or social status?

They don't even understand how THE system works. In THIS system all you have to do is SPEAK LOUD and VOICE yourself.
Let them persecute you now,LET THEM do whatever they wish to do you now, but each day you document more evidence of those actions and in the long run they will dug their own graves, as anyone always did when targeting innocent civilians as scapegoats.
Don't think of yourself individually, think of yourself as a group , be ready to forsake your own interests for the good of the larger group you belong to and 100 Tea Parties will come with tails between their behind begging you for forgiveness.
And it will be not you but someone else scapegoated next time.
