  • SPEEDING TICKET

Need some insight. On the day of my naturalization interview I got a speeding ticket. I paid for it and took the Driver Improvement Course so there are no points on my license. I got a notice of my ceremony date and on the back of the notice it lists a bunch of questions. All don't apply to me but there's one that I'm curious about. It basically said AFTER THE DATE OF YOUR INTERVIEW have you been imprisoned, fined, cited etc. for violating any law or ordinance INCLUDING traffic violations? I'm assuming they mean AFTER the interview because if it's AFTER THE DATE OF THE INTERVIEW, I would check NO as I got the ticket ON THE DATE OF MY INTERVIEW. Anyway, I won't be technical and I will answer the question as YES. I got a copy of my driving record which is squeakly clean and a receipt from the court that I paid the ticket. QUESTION: When I got to my Ceremony to "swear in", WILL THIS CREATE A PROBLEM??? WIll I not get to swear in on that date??? I would be devastated if they tell me to come back. AM I WORRIED ABOUT NOTHING....???? Please give your insight about this. Thank you!!!
