    The arrest may cause a delay, because even though you don't have a criminal record, your arrest may still show up on the FBI arrest records. Your arrest is not supposed to still be in the system if your case was dismissed. Nevertheless, sometimes the FBI "forgets" to erase such records. You can do a FBI check on yourself to find out if you are in the system. http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm

    No one can predict if your case will be delayed or for how long. Some people with criminal records sail through naturalization with little problem. Some people who have never done anything bad in their life have their naturalization applications delayed for years without any explanation.

    Can a domestic violance arrest which was dismissed and expunged more than 5 years cause delay in processing my N 400 application?

    If yes, then by whom, by the local immigration bureau or the federal one? Also, anyone has an estimate of how long this could delay the process? Thanks!
