Didn't the article say that she was still being held in Colombia as of five days ago?

It might have done but that's old news now, she's back...

No Brain Brit looses again. There were no fingerprints in the ICE database to compare with.

Read any of the stories and it is clear she wanted to be deported. She made no effort to contact her family. Her Facebook postings showed she was happy until she was arrested by the Columbian authorities.

She wanted to be deported. She had a hearing before an Immigration Judge and told the judge she was Columbian.

Nonesense argumement. Why don't ICE Agents and the IJ believe every other lie told them by undocumented immigrants? Or are you saying they've never encountered a lying person before; therefore, they were unprepared for her.? Tkae that argument to the townhall meeting of stupid people like.

They probably haven't dealt with it before, noborders. Someone lying about their identity to stay IN the country is a completely different animal to someone lying to get out. Maybe in a third world or war torn country, but not in the US.

Initially, I didnt believe the USCIS exercised due diligence, but the more i read, the more it stinks and now I have to wonder what else could they have done? When her fingerprints didnt match the name on the arrest warrants but she was still saying that was who she was and where she was from, they had a Colombian official come. Shouldn't that person bear some responsibility? And what of the girl herself? She knew what was going to happen to her. She could have told the truth at any time, but she persisted in her lies. And then there's the family and no mention of any police reports in the 6 months she was missing prior to the arrest and deportation. If there were, the police would have flagged her as a runaway when she was first arrested and things would never have gotten as far as they did.

There was a failure alright, but it wasn't just on the part of the USCIS. 2 countries, 1 girl and her family all had a hand in it.
