How will it sound,-'Sure I will still love you, baby, even if you call Immigration agent and report me to the SIC! How can ever you doubt!'

    What's next, macyuhoo-la-love-expert.......?

And you can ask...will you still love me if I call an immigration agent or report you to the CIS? If she still says yes, then she's truly in love.

Well, one can test that person. Let's say he tells her sorry I can't sponsor you...do you still love me?
    What a wise advice, indeed!

So, what if that person says: 'Sure, I still love you, baby, I will love you forever, I am so in love that I want to jump from the cliff from overwhelming feeling of true love!' ???

Is that a good sign, macyuhoo-la-love-expert?

When you are in relationship with someone, you can always tell if that someone has good intentions (REGARDLESS of that person's immigration status, of course) by the way YOU feel.

If you feel completely happy and enjoying every moment of your life then the relationship is real. And if you want to get married, get married and you might live happy ever after, if you put effort into it.

If you don't feel COMPLETELY happy, not enjoying BEING yourself, then that someone is not into you. And then if you STILL want to get married, get married, but it will not last ever after, no matter how much effort you put into it.

If this person entered with a proper visa and overstayed (no c1 or twov entries), AOS is a possibility and the process could take anywhere from 6 months to a year or so.
If the person entered without inspection, AOS is not an option and you should retain an experienced attorney in order to get qualified advice. This is NOT legal advice, contact an attorney if you need legal help.

If she entered illegally, how sure are you that she will let you enter her on the wedding night...unless you also enter her illegally.

Actually, the divorce rate is almost 70%- and more than half of those end up marrying (or in some cases) re-marrying their original spouse!!! A word to the wise...(of course, if any of these illegal alien lovers were wise, they wouldn't marry these leeching, greencard-seeking scumbags)

many aliens now use this "romantic love" strategy to get their wish of legalizing their stay. And then, poor US citizens like you are dumped like trash once they get their papers worked out. Believe me, the number of such people is alarming...almost 50% end up getting
If Caliborn's fiance(e) was marrying ONLY to get LPR, he/she would have known exactly what to do, because ill thoughts like such only come to those people mind, who have known successful examples of fake marriages.

Anyways, Caliborn, if your fiance(e) entered the US without
inspection at the POE, then it depends on the circumstances. The best thing to do is consult an IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY AT LAW.

I guess another village has misplaced their resident idiot.....yet another example of some dodo marrying an illegal, believing that the illegal is really in love...sure.....take away any chance of a green card and you would see true love vanish.

Having just met over a year ago is to me too short a period to know one another. While I don't want to be judgmental, many aliens now use this "romantic love" strategy to get their wish of legalizing their stay. Believe me, the number of such people is alarming...almost 50% end up getting divorce after becoming legal.
