I don't see how being an international student in Canada will help prove your ties to your homeland unless you become a landed immigrant there. Again, you need things that show ties to your homeland (or your adopted country such as Canada): close family ties there, proof of property ownership, a good job you've held for awhile (letter from employer), records of bank accounts, all over a period of time.
