Some reasons,I think is because each service center & local offices will have different processing times...Also, applicants have different circumstances (forgot to fill our required things on form, wrong processing fee was paid, biometrics and/or fingeprints need to be re-done, FBI name check is still pending, was not able to submit medical forms etc...).

I am from New York. I filed my i-485 along with my i-765 last week of Feb, 2005. I already got my EAD. On Sept. 19 (after almost 7 months), USCIS sent my Application to California Service Center for processing. California Service Center received it last Sept. 22 and said it is taking 270-300 days for them to process the case. That's another 9-10 months?!! I know somebody from New York who got her AOS interview after 6 months of filing. How come mine will take a year and a half?Leave a comment:
