N400 and submitting a copy of the crime record

Helping a friend of mine with N400:
In this case, 7 years GS holder, 5 years ago a regrettable DUI (misd) in CA , records expunged.
He is applying for citizenship, should he also include a certified copy of the court records regarding the DUI with N400 application? Is CIS going to ask for it later? Thanks.

I say he should include the copy of the records and avoid possible delay... since USCIS will ask for them anyway.

USCIS doesn't care if records are expunged or not.
