  • waiting for GC

    Hi
Last i got my GC stamped in the passport and submitted whatever they needed but because the officer didnt seem so friendly i didnt ask him how long will it take to get the card in mail. If somebody can tell me how long will that take?
But i did ask him if i can apply for Citizen and he said gave me exactly the expiration date on my green card for next year. I was thinking all this time that one can apply for citizen after 2.9yrs of marriage to citizen.
Give me some ideas on this too please??
    Thanks

Many people report receiving them within weeks. But they have up to a year to forward it to you. In regards to filing for Natz as the spouse of U.S. citizen you can apply 3 months prior to your 3rd year as lawful permanent resident.

At the Atlanta office we were told 6 months to a year for getting the plastic card.

Anybody has an idea about the time it takes for the green card to arrive in the mail for Detroit Office?

        Doreen, have you received yours?

Since when did have your interview?

It seems to vary by office and by type. Many report receiving cards 2-3 weeks after AOS interviews. My 10-yr card following processing of my approved I-751 took almost 3 months.

sphyrapicus3, thank you for that info.

When did you get your 10yr GC?

The 3 weeks timeline people are reporting is that recently or a year ago?

I received my 10-yr card last Friday and I was processed on July 8th.

As for the 3 weeks, I've heard of that recently (in the past couple of weeks).

Still waiting for my GC... (last set of mugshots dropped off in June) (when my very old I-751 was approved)
