Too bad the American public does not share your views on immigration, cause if they did, ancredo would be the leading candidate for the 08 presidential elections...Matterfact, the 2 main candidate for president are both, huge supporters of the guest worker program, so ones can wonder on what side the american public are?..At the most, he american publican probably do not care, they dont see this as a threat to their life or money.
No matter how hard ancredo, aliba and his baffoons tries to get the american public to get angry, they just refuses to take side with the evil anti-immigrant group, they understand that this country would not be what it is today if it wasnt for immigration...mccain or hillary will win the election because the american public does not share anti-immigration sentiment
    Garbage!

Another "Enquire" style dis-info, aimed to confuse the reader.

    Everything is much simpler.

    As I said before.

You see the "usual suspects" opposing this bill--the same ones who ignored the "aiding and abetting" laws that already exist as civil matters, and have lobbied against enforcement all along--and largely succeeded, resulting in our present mess. They have only themselves to blame for this bill.

Illegal aliens and their supporters do themselves no good with the American people when they demonstrate and show just how many people are getting away with breaking our laws.
(By the way, I haven't heard one word about the President opposing this bill. And, he has said that he does oppose "amnesty", although he probably re-defines amnesty to suit his audience and his own needs.)

Looks like one of the main figures behind the anti-immigrant movement Lamar Smith was in on it.

Althought i respect what immortale is saying when he says that enforcement-only will have to pass first, then people will witness with 2 eyes how evil and how much harm this bill causes ei: family breaking up, church's leaders being arrested..Doctors, teachers being put to jail for helping undocumented kids...then , the Americans people would call for a full amnesty and demonize the anti-immigrant group for advocating this evil law....

I understand where immortale is coming from, but i also feel that this bill does not have to be enacted for everyone to see how much arms it could cause...right now, you are seeing churches all across the Unied states opposing the enforcement-only approach..You have the U.S largest unions opposing it, you have the president opposing it, you have millions of migrants rallying in the streets opposing it, telling people that you might get arrested just for throwing a piece of bread to migrants...you are seeing a nationwide oucry, and it is very successfull...they are even more rallies planned for april 10th..Ive heard that protesters are gunning for the shut down of the entire city of new york..They are talking about mobilizing 1 million people in the US to rally on behalf of immigration..the churches are telling people to get into the act and that you dont have to be an undocumented migrant because you could be unfairly arrested..The churches are all united on the immigration issue..Name me one branch of religion in the U.S hat is advocating the deportation of 11 millions people...They all know that this is wha god wants..God wants you to do whats right, and whats right is to desobey any law that looks evil

So what you are seeing is a good P.R move by the pro-immigration lobbyist.

tancredo and the others does not help themseves when they speak because you could hear the hate in their voices, and the american public does not like angry people like aliba and someone12.

I ask aliba to tell me one good thing about undocumented workers, and he wouldnt be able to mention one good thing..hate is all over his face, and for this, i do not respect him and his racist friends.

H.R4437 WAS WRITTEN BY THE DEVIL HIMSELF.

The only way there might ever be a "full and unconditional" amnesty is if the economy improves greatly, and somehow, I don't see that happening. It's worth noting that the talk of amnesty in this administration was only possible because of the dot.com boom, and busted with it and 9/11. Now, it's quite likely that the construction industry (a major employer of illegal aliens) will be next, as housing purchases start to slow.

Guess that's just gonna leave us all with nothing, which is probably what Congress has planned all along.
    Nah!

Momentum IS there to pass "Enforcement Only" legislation.

How it got there is another subject ("FAIR & Co" ).

Yet another subject is what will be the overall consequences of it (Another Full & Unconditional Amnesty several years from).

    Simple and clear.

why did we have several million illegal aliens in 1986 for amnesty?

3 million qualified for 1986 Amnesty.

As opposed to 12 (by some estimates 20) Million - and still swelling - illegal population now.

"Guest worker" programs and "amnesty" also flunk the reality test as means of preventing illegal immigration. (If 1996 laws were responsible for illegal immigration, then just why did we have several million illegal aliens in 1986 for amnesty?) Guess that's just gonna leave us all with nothing, which is probably what Congress has planned all along.

The Illegal Immigration drastically rose NOT after 1986 Reform but after 1996 Reform. (Surprise? )

But still it's not enough to persuade "FAIR & Co." that their thinking is good only on paper, but miserably fails when faced with the test of reality.

Of course, NO DOUBT, the House of Representatives will defy President and will either succeed in passing it's version of "Immigration Reform" (HR4437), or else they won't pass anything at all this year (and try "Enforcement Only" measures again next year).

You can see where it's going from miles away.

Here's another interesting article which is similar to what I had heard earlier this year.

    --------------------

    Bubba Bait

The Bush Administration and some key members of Congress, unfortunately, are not really interested in the next needed steps for genuine reform "” or even the first steps for that matter. Rather, as described by National Review columnist Rich Lowry, they hope to use the H.R. 4437 provisions as "**** bait for Bubba." The Bush Administration will give lip service to "Bubba" (a contemptuous term for conservative Americans), while pushing what it has wanted all along: a massive "guest worker" amnesty for illegal aliens.

Said Lowry, "A Republican close to the White House has told Time [magazine] how Bush wants to lull his conservative supporters into swallowing amnesty and guest worker program[s]... The idea is that the House... will pass a bill with new enforcement measures, only to see the Senate pass a different bill with an amnesty and guest worker program, which will be shoved down the throats of the House on a take-it-or-leave it basis. Supporters of tougher enforcement will have gotten their 'noise,' and Bush and the business lobby will have gotten their policy."

A member of the House confirmed to AIC that the Bush Administration will put heavy pressure on the House to get what it wants. To defeat its strategy, he maintained, citizens must raise a loud outcry to both the House and Senate. They must insist, said this congressman, that there be no discussion of worker programs or any other major changes in immigration law until we can enact reforms to promote enforcement "” and test them.

The basic insincerity of the administration is obvious. The guest worker proposal is not a permanent amnesty, the president insists, because the guest workers would go home after several terms. That would be the law.

But what would that matter to the illegal aliens "” the proposed recipients of guest worker status "” who are here already? The law means nothing to them now because we lack the will and the means to enforce it. This situation will not change until we have effective internal enforcement in operation. Getting state and local police involved is a place to begin. Nevertheless, the president and other guest worker advocates have barely given lip service to this idea. Instead, they have stressed border security, a step which has nothing do with making sure that guest workers truly will be guests, i.e. people who go home after paying us a visit.

Knowledgeable Americans are tired of bait and switch tactics to prevent meaningful reform. Twenty years ago the political powers told us that if we would just accept a one-time amnesty for illegal aliens, we would have good enforcement. Instead we got more amnesties, but no laws with any teeth in them.

After so many broken promises from Washington, the current promises from Washington mean nothing. The politicians must hear the message: Real control of our border and interior, first and foremost. Anything else is Bubba bait.

    -----------------------------

Looks like they fell for it. If this is theory is correct, then restrictionists like Tancredo will be responsible for pushing through the guest-worker program. Now, wouldn't that be funny....if this guest-worker program passes then we could organize the millions of newly "documented" guest-workers and have them all send a thank you letters to Tancredo and his anti-immigrant buddies.

Of course, they may have been in on it the whole time. You never know when it comes to politicians.
