  • Frustrated... HELP!

    Ok....

So my "smart" husband somehow lost his green card coming from the DMV...
Has this happend to anyone? How does he replace it and get a new one?
Also, any idea how much it would cost or how long it would take to receive it?

    Thank you guys!!

      Hi mp2006

Yes first he should report it lost, in case someone finds it, handed it in, or stole it. Best to check around before applying for new card.

To apply for a new one, he needs to file form I-90.
You can download form from website or call them for form.

There is evidence that they do require too, like a photocopy of old one if you have it, or something that has ID on it.

I believe he will need to send 2 photos too.

I'll find you the link with all the info.

Here you go, here is the link to USIS website and gives you all the information. It also has on the bottom of the page the download option for form and the instructions on how to file.

Ok,,,,, so it is quite costly.
        Thanks for the info.
He has to go to an interview just to replace his card? Or am I misunderstanding the instructions on the website?

No, there should not be any interview, but they have a right to ask, if needed.

He will have to go for his biometrics again. He will have to send payment for both biometrics and card.

I believe what happens is that once they receive the form, they will contact you for an appointment at your local office to get biometrics done again.
