Does anybody know the difference between and I-601 and an I-690? They look the same to me.

I am more familiar with the I-601 than with the I-690.. however, perhaps I can help a little.
Both are waivers of excludability. However,
The I-690 is generally for use in conjunction with INA sections 245A and 210.
Section 245A pertains to the adjustment of status of certain entrants before 1/1/82 to a eprson admittd for lawful residence,
Section 210 pertains to certain agricultural workers.
The I-601 is for people who are either the spouse or child of an LPR/USC and who have been found to be inadmissible on a number of grounds including, overstaying a visa or entering without inspection AND being unlawfully present for more than 6 months. A person that has committed certain types of crimes (such as those of moral turpitude) and/or has a disease such as AIDS.
I hope this helps!
