    Kollerkrot,

your post made me smile I have wondered about the washers here now for a long time myself and I miss the German washers a lot.
I myself by now use cold water detergent like proud said, but I'd rather have a washer with it's own heating coil.

ON the other hand American clothes are made different for some reason and I wonder if the clothes here could stand the " abuse" of an German washer

Anyhow, if you purchase a washer with it's own heating element in it, let me know how it turns out for you, I would be very interested.

The word is that washing certain laundry like bedding in hot water, namely hotter than 55 C prevents allergies as it kills dust mites and other microbials. Although I've been missing the heating element for more than just that. I keep my house boiler at a lower temp for the bathwater, cooking and cleaning around the house and everytime I wanted to wash something hot I had to turn up the house boiler.

In all of this researching the washer issue, I have learned that Whirlpool owns Bauknecht but doesn't distribute the product here. What a B umer!

I am majorly disappointed about that and I think I have to write them a letter regarding this.

In the meantime, however, I am going to buy a Bosch.

        Hello 4Now!

How am I going to brake this to you - please calm down!

Me posting an "Off-Topic-Thread", wasn't meant to destroy the board. What's wrong with a little "just conversation" among the regulars? I agree we could have a "chatting thread" or something of the sort. We had some really good conversations here before that were not immigration related.

BTW: Even if some of my thread content is not immigration related, I am immigrant, that's all the relation needed. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I don't think 4now aimed his post at you, more at fedNUT because of his almost daily anti-immigrant rants posted everywhere on here. Notice how few ever bother to respond to them as well LOL

              Fed, you're so funny!

I have to correct a little here. Drum washers do not abuse clothes at all. It's the agitators that agitate and abuse clothes.... Sometimes fabric gets caught and buttons are thorn off or the friction can burn wholes into or damage the fabric period. Drum washers don't do that.

But, I have just found a Swedish brand (Asko) that seems to do away the Germans. I got to follow up this one - interesting.

I can't complain. I've always been a detailed hard worker and I want my washer work no less than I do.

Highj@cking to say that Brit and Sprintie, I gave the English boys a bit of a cheer for you tonight. Not as loud as NZ got but the thought was there

Was the opening ceremony for the rugby sevens.

Nobody yet. LOL. Although the opening ceremony was last night, the tournament doesn't start til tomorrow. By English boys, I mean the England Rugby Sevens team.

It was kinda funny standing around talking to Welsh, Scottish, and even a few other kiwis.
