Particularly to Antigua? I've recently met an Antiguan that told me because Canada is a commonwealth country that we don't need work permits or visas to live and work there. I would appreciate any information that would help me confirm this and give more details.

I can state that being a Commonwealth country makes no difference.

Here's another. From what little I've read, it appears Antigua doesn't want illegal immigrants in their country either.

Yeah. I think the jobs are pretty scarce and, of course, go to the qualified citizens first. I've visited Antigua - not sure what their main economic source is, but saw a lot of poverty. The ABC islands, on the other hand, have pretty low rates of unemployment. Keep digging - not that I would ever consider leaving the USA permanently, but it might be interesting to do a 6-month stint on one of the islands!
