  • GC marrying a GC

An LPR arrives in the States and decides to marry another LPR who holds a green card but is in the process of applying for naturalisation.
Does it make the naturalisation process of the former easier and shorter i.e 3 years instead of 5.
    Thanks.

      Hi Mus,

      Who is Eligible for Naturalization?
      "Type of applicant
      If you
Are currently married to and living with a U.S. citizen
      AND
Have been married to and living with that same U.S.citizen for the past 3 years
      AND
Your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the past 3 years"

Based on that ( from USCIS.gov ), I would say - Yes, LPR spouse will benefit from the naturalization of the other, he/she can apply 3 years from the date (OK, -90 days) the other spouse became USC.
