    Paddy-

You also have to realize that not everyone gets the citizenship right after tehy get their greencard. They could have committed a cime in that time and it not have registered with INS or a dramatic change may have occured to their fingerprints.

Paddy relax yourself. You have to get fingerprinted again even though you did for your AOS interview. After September 11th the US gov takes no chances on anyone and you have to be fingerprinted again. It is Mandatory and thats it in a nutshell! $50 for fingerprints. Its a waiting game and thats the unforunate thing but if you have your green card dont feel bad. Think of what everyone else has to do and wait years on theirs coming through. So chin up and relax yourself.Good luck! Having your fingerprints taken should be the least of your worries!

Can anyone give me a good reason why you have to give fingerprints as part of the citizenship process? Doesn't the USCIS get our fingerprints when we apply for adjustment of status....aren't we again fingerprinted at the AOS interview? I mean how many f-u-c-k-i-n-g sets hands do they need. Just another excuse to rip the LEGAL immigrant off.......as you can tell I am still p-i-s-s-e-d off by the increase in fees and of course fingerprints are part and parcel of the process
