I thought you could go straight to GC, problem I seem to remember at the moment is that the special category has been suspended so you are in with everybody else.
Being a RN is usually a good move to go anywhere.

Problem with this is that an RN is NOT required to have a Bachelors degree, the only exception to this is North Dakota (I believe). Some will argue with this but if you doubt me, check your state Nursing Board/ Ask if you can become an RN without a BA or BS
The H-1B requires the beneficiary to have a Bachelors degree AND for the position named to require at least a Bachelors degree.
