There are a lot of qualified highly skilled workers who are accountants, computer programmers etc who are undocumented and had not legal way to change their status having been educated at universities here. They own houses, pay taxes, social security and have already assimilated but they are leaving in the shadows. They are kids who have been here since there were 3/4 years and have been educated in the American system and are in limbo becuase they cannot go further than high school and cannot work. Some of these kids were valedictorians in their class. Your talking about poorly educated people is a nonstarter to me because you also mention that they work 2 jobs which means they are hard working. In any society you are going to have low income families. Currently these families are living in the shadows and if they can come out of the underground they will be hard working and contribute more.
